I am so excited because our new King’s Hawaiian food truck is hitting the road and going to Austin, Texas for the South by Southwest Film Conference and Festival. It is going to be a lot of fun! We’re bringing people a brand new experience from King’s Hawaiian by serving up delicious food out of one of the coolest high-tech food trucks around.

I was there last night as they were loading the truck on a flatbed to make the trip (check it out):

Once we get to Austin, we’re going to enjoy the debut of the new film Chef, starring Jon Favreau, Sofia Vergara, John Leguizamo, Scarlett Johansson, Dustin Hoffman and Robert Downey Jr. The film will be opening the first night of the SXSW Film Festival. The story is all about food trucks and fun – with some of the meals being cooked up in the film using King’s Hawaiian bread. In honor of that, we’re working on serving up BBQ brisket sliders from the food truck at select locations in Austin. As soon as I have pictures I will share!

That’s not all we are doing at SXSW. We’ll also be enjoying some awesome music and serving up more great King’s Hawaiian food from the food truck on site at the Sony music venue March 12-14. I’ll have more awesome pics to share with you then.

Hopefully Texas can take in all the King’s Hawaiian Aloha now, because once the festival is over, we’ll be shipping the truck back home to Hawaii to serve up more amazing food there and maybe even develop the next big culinary creation!

Stay tuned. I’ll be sharing more of our King’s Hawaiian SXSW food truck experience with you in the next two weeks!

Mahalo!
