Step 1
Place onions in a large pan over medium heat with with ¼ c butter. Cook while stirring for 18-20 minutes until onions are well caramelized and soft.
Step 2
Preheat and oil a griddle pan over medium heat. Remove the KING'S HAWAIIAN Original Sweet Rolls from the package keeping the loaf intact. Using a long bread knife, carefully slice the entire loaf open to create a top and bottom section. Make sure to keep the rolls stuck together in a sheet.
Step 3
Brush the inside of the rolls with melted butter. Place the buttered side down on the griddle and toast until golden brown. While toasting, use the remaining melted butter to brush the outside. Use a large spatula to flip and slightly toast the outside of the rolls.
Step 4
Remove the toasted rolls from the griddle and spread the marinara on the bottom portion of the rolls.
Step 5
Slice the brie cheese and lay it out to cover the bottom portion of the bread. Evenly lay out the sliced pears across the top of the brie. Season with salt & pepper.
Step 6
Roll up (or fold) the slices of ham and place evenly spread out on top. Drizzle a fine zigzag of balsamic glaze across the entire sandwich.
Step 7
Place the top bun on, brush with the melted butter and sprinkle with finely chopped bacon.
Step 8
Place the entire sandwich in the oven on a sheet pan and bake in the oven at 350ºF for 6 minutes until the brie begins to melt.
