  • 0 Maui (or Vidalia) Onion, thinly sliced or chopped (if desired)
  • KALUA PORK
  • 1 1/2 pound Pork Butt
  • 1 Banana Leaf to completely wrap pork
  • 3 Tbsp Liquid Smoke
  • 1 Tbsp Hawaiian Salt
  • PINEAPPLE SAUCE
  • 2 cups Pineapple, medium diced
  • 1 tablespoon Yellow Curry Powder
  • 1/4 cup white wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup White Truffle Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 - 6 pack KING'S HAWAIIAN Hot Dog Buns

Hawaiian style pulled pork sandwich using KING'S HAWAIIAN hot dog bun as French Roll.

How to make the Kalua Pork (Hawaiian Style Pulled Pork)

Lomi (massage) salt all over pork, wrap salted pork with banana leaf, cook for 3.5 to 4 hr. @ 300F in a pan, allow cooked pork to cool and then shred. Pour liquid smoke evenly throughout shredded pork and mix as needed.

How to make the PINEAPPLE SAUCE
Step 4
In a blender, add all ingredients and pulse until mixture is smooth & creamy, about 10-15 seconds.

Assemble Kalua Pork Rolls
Step 6
Brush outsides of buns lightly with olive oil or butter then toast lightly in a pan.
Step 7
Fill the toasted buns with Kalua pork, then drizzle with pineapple sauce. Top with arugula, Maui onions (optional). Kaukau time!
