  • 2 pounds pot roast
  • 1 medium maui or vidalia onion
  • 2 cups Water
  • 2 tablespoons onion soup mix
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 1/2 cups prepared brown gravy
  • 16 slices of bread
  • 16 slices of mozzarella cheese
  • 1 loaf KING'S HAWAIIAN Original Hawaiian Sweet Round Bread (slice each piece about 1” thick)

an extremely tasty sandwich, that is very filling and has texture...pot roast in gravy with onion on toasted/grilled bread with melted mozzerella cheese..and toppings on the side to add as you like...topping were fresh sliced avocado,alfalfa sprouts, sauteed mushroom, green peppers and onion,
Step 1
put the roast in the crock pot on high (my roast was frozen) if thawed cooking on low should be fine
Step 2
add the water,onion soup mix,onion,garlic,salt and pepper
Step 3
cook overnite
Step 4
pull meat,discard the fat and add in the brown gravy to the meat
Step 5
simmer for 30 minutes
Step 6
spread butter on one side of each piece of bread
Step 7
lay the slices of bread butterside down on a griddle
Step 8
top each piece of bread with a slice of the cheese
Step 9
spoon on the meat and gravy to cover 1/2 of the bread slices
Step 10
top them with the remaining bread on the griddle and continue to cook till the bread is browned and cheese has melted
Step 11
remove and put on plates to serve
