Combine ketchup, sugar, mustard, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and chili powder in a sauce pan.
Bring to a boil and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add olive oil and onions to a sauté pan.
Cook until translucent 2-3 minutes.
Add the beef and cook until browned, then add garlic. Cook for another minute.
Add the sauce to the meat, season with salt and ground pepper and cook for 1 hour.
Place sloppy Joe onto King’s Hawaiian mini sub roll, top with some shredded lettuce.
Top the lettuce with some cheddar cheese and cover with the top of the roll.
Recipe serves 12. You can freeze the leftovers and have lunch at your fingertips.
