The Mascot Dog

Ingredients

2 tablespoons olive oil
1 large onion chopped
2 pounds ground beef
3 garlic cloves minced
16 ounce can tomato paste
1 cup Beef broth
2 1/2 tablespoons Brown sugar
2 tablespoons Smoky paprika
1 teaspoon dry mustard
4 Hot Dogs
Shredded cheese for topping
4 KING'S HAWAIIAN Hot Dog Buns
Salt To taste
Pepper To taste

Preparation

Step 1
Heat oil in a saucepan and add onions and cook for 3 minutes or until translucent.

Step 2
Add the ground beef and cook on high until brown, about 7 minutes.

Step 3
Add garlic, stir and cook for another minute.

Step 4
Add tomato sauce, beef broth and brown sugar to the ground beef. Cook for 3 minutes.

Step 5
Add the spices, stir and bring to a simmer.

Step 6
Simmer for 30 minutes.

Step 7
Add salt and pepper to taste.

Step 8
While chili is cooking, grill hot dogs on a preheated grill at medium-high heat.

Step 9
Place hot dogs in a King’s Hawaiian bun, top with chili and shredded cheese.
