  • 1 package King’s Hawaiian Original Hawaiian Sweet Hamburger Buns
  • 8 each 4 oz ground beef patties 80/20
  • 4 tsp mayonnaise
  • 4 tsp yellow mustard
  • 2 each kosher dill pickles, finely sliced
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese
  • 8 slices ham
  • Kosher salt
  • Non-stick cooking spray

Preparation

Step 1
Brush the buns with melted butter and toast the insides of the bun on a hot griddle. After toasting, evenly spread mustard on the bottom of the buns and mayo on the top buns.
Step 2
Season the burger with salt, place on the griddle and cook for 45 seconds, then smash to 1/3rd inch thickness and cook for 2 minutes then flip and cook for another 2 minutes.
Step 3
Spray a piece of 12x12 foil with non-stick cooking spray. Place the bottom bun off center on the sprayed foil.
Step 4
Place the pickles on the bottom then top with burger patty. Top with a slice of cheese then a slice of ham.
Step 5
Place the top bun on and wrap tightly with foil.
Step 6
Place on the griddle and place a heavy weight (brick or cast-iron pan) on top. Press down gently to flatten. Cook for 2-3 minutes then remove weight, flip, replace weight and cook on the other side for 2 more minutes.
Step 7
Cut in half straight through the foil and serve.
