- Oil and butter, for grilling sandwiches
- Short Rib Ingredients :
- 2 pounds boneless short ribs, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 cups soy sauce
- 1 cup mirin
- 1/2 cup garlic powder
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 2 sprigs fresh thyme
- Pickled Red Onions :
- 3 cups white vinegar
- 1/4 cup salt
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 5 red onions, sliced 1/3-inch-thick
- 1/4 cup lime juice
