Sonoran Hot Dog

  • 8 Hot Dogs
  • 8 Thin cut strips of bacon
  • 1 can Refried beans
  • 1 Large onion, sliced and grilled
  • 4 Tomatoes, chopped
  • 4 Avocados, sliced or smashed
  • 8 Peppers, grilled
  • 1 package Cotija cheese
  • 1 bottle Jalapeno sauce (or other hot sauce)
  • To taste mayonnaise
  • To taste mustard
  • 1 package KING’S HAWAIIAN Original Hawaiian Sweet Hot Dog Buns

Preparation

  • 1 Wrap each hot dog with one slice of bacon, at an angle, covering the whole hot dog. Use small toothpicks to hold ends of bacon in place if necessary.
  • 2 Grill bacon wrapped hot dogs over medium-high heat turning frequently to ensure all sides of bacon wrapped hot dogs are cooked thoroughly.
  • 3 While hot dogs are cooking, start to heat your refried beans in a small pot.
  • 4 Towards the end of your hot dogs grilling, throw your peppers on the grill until they blister to your preference. Remove hot dogs and peppers from heat when ready.
  • 5 Build your Sonoran hot dog in this order: KING’S HAWAIIAN hot dog bun, refried beans, bacon wrapped hot dog, avocado, grilled onions, mustard, mayo, hot sauce, sprinkles of cheese and a grilled pepper on the side.
