Neens from Ono Yum
Neens grew up in the island-style communities of San Diego. Far from Hawaii, but close to plate lunch, surfing and ukulele jammin, Neens is the creator of the Musubi Map and the I Love Poke Festival, both vehicles that reflect his passion for all things Hawaiian. He was raised on local-style home cooking thanks to his Mom, Gles, also known as the Filipina Betty Crocker. This recipe is one of Neens’ favorite dishes that he grew up eating, courtesy of his Mom. Thanks, Mom!
Recipe Details

12 Pre-cooked meatballs

1 King's Hawaiian Smoked Bacon BBQ Sauce

3 slices Cheddar cheese, cute into 12 squares

4 sliced Bacon, cooked and cut into thirds

1 Large onion, grilled

1 package KING'S HAWAIIAN Original Hawaiian Sweet Dinner Rolls

Step 1
Heat pre-cooked meatballs on grill.
Step 2
Add cheese to each meatball and let melt.
Step 3
Toast KING’S HAWAIIAN dinner rolls on top of indirect heat on your grill. If indirect heat is not an option, keep a very close eye on your rolls as they will toast fairly quickly over direct heat!
Step 4
Build your slider in this order: Bottom roll, KING'S HAWAIIAN Smoked Bacon BBQ Sauce, grilled onions, bacon, meatball w/cheese, top roll (and a toothpick to hold it together).

Neens from Ono Yum says:

Slice the bottom of the meatball to make the surface flat, making it so the meatball sits on the roll better. But don’t waste the bottom part, eat it!
