Ingredients

KING'S HAWAIIAN HOT DOG BUNS

2 pounds Lean ground beef

2.5 tablespoons Chili powder, divided

1 Onion, diced

1 Jalapeno, seeded and diced

4 Cloves of garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Cumin

1 Green bell pepper, seeded and diced

14.5 ounce can Crushed tomatoes

19 ounce can Kidney beans, drained and rinsed

14.5 ounce can Diced tomatoes with juice

1.5 cups Beef broth

1 tablespoon Tomato paste

1 tablespoon Brown sugar

Salt & pepper, to taste

Hot dogs

Shredded cheddar cheese, for topping

Green onions, for topping

Preparation
Step 1
Combine ground beef and 1.5 tablespoons chili powder In a large pot
Step 2
Brown ground beef, onion, jalapeno and garlic
Step 3
Drain any fat
Step 4
Add in remaining ingredients and bring to a boil
Step 5
Reduce heat and simmer uncovered 45-60 min or until chili has reached desired thickness
Step 6
Top with cheddar cheese, green onion, cilantro or other favorite toppings
Step 7
Place grilled hot dogs into King’s Hawaiian hot dog buns
Step 8
Add a heaping spoon of chili topped with shredded cheddar cheese.

KING'S HAWAIIAN says:

The chilli makes 7-8 cups after a 45-60 min reduction. The longer you cook it, the less it yields. It's approx 1/4 cup of chilli per hot dog, so in total, it's about 32 servings.
