Ready to treat your taste buds to a flavor-packed, bite-sized delight? Say hello to jalapeño ham and cream cheese sliders. Imagine warm, gooey cream cheese paired with savory ham—nestled between soft, pillowy buns with a kick of zesty jalapeños. Sounds delicious, right?

What can you make with leftover ham?

Leftover cooked ham, whether from a holiday dinner or a previous meal, is great for repurposing into sliders. Just slice or chop the leftover ham into smaller pieces for the sliders.

What should you eat with ham and cheese sliders?

Try pairing your sliders with coleslaw, crispy potato chips, or tomato soup for a satisfying meal. The creamy, tangy flavor of tomato soup complements the sliders perfectly.

How long do you reheat sliders in the oven?

To reheat sliders in the oven, preheat your oven to 350°F. Cover the sliders with aluminum foil to help retain moisture and reheat them for about 10 minutes. This allows the fillings to warm up without causing the rolls to become too crispy or overly toasted.

These sliders are easy to prepare, making them perfect for gatherings, tailgating parties, or even quick family weeknight dinners. Let’s get started!

1. Preheat and Prep

Start by preheating the oven to 350 °F. Once you've assembled these sliders, the oven does the heavy lifting for you. No need to stand by the stove or flip anything. Just pop the baking dish in and let the magic happen while you sit back and relax. It’s that simple!

2. Slice the King’s Hawaiian Rolls

Here comes the star of the show: King’s Hawaiian Jalapeño Hawaiian Rolls. Keeping the rolls intact, slice the bread in half horizontally using a serrated knife. Then, place the bottom half of the rolls in an ungreased baking pan (9x13 is ideal!).

King's Hawaiian Jalapeño Rolls are known for their irresistibly soft, slightly spicy flavor profile. These rolls provide a delicious contrast to the savory ham, creating a harmonious balance of flavors in every bite. Plus, their pre-cut nature saves you time and effort, ensuring consistency in size for assembling your sliders.

3. Cream Cheese Magic

In a medium mixing bowl, blend the cream cheese with 1 oz of shredded cheese. Once you’ve thoroughly combined both cheeses, spread the mixture evenly across the bottom half of the rolls.

When combined, shredded cheese helps absorb some of the moisture from cream cheese. This combination melts more evenly and at a slower pace during baking, resulting in a smoother, controlled melting process. Basically, it helps maintain the creamy consistency without turning into a messy puddle.

4. Build Your Slider Masterpiece

Next, layer as much ham as you’d like on top of the cheese-covered rolls. If you’re not sure what kind of ham to use, we recommend deli-sliced ham (think: black forest ham, honey ham, or Virginia ham) for a convenient solution.

If you prefer a thicker cut of ham, you can opt for ham steaks or thick-cut ham slices. These can be diced or cut into smaller pieces to fit the sliders.

5. More Cheese, Please

Add the remaining shredded cheese on top of the ham. Then, place the other half of the rolls on top.

6. Drizzle With Flavor

In a small saucepan, place the butter and honey over low to medium-low heat. Allow the butter to melt slowly, stirring occasionally to combine it with the honey. Once the butter is completely melted and mixed with the honey, remove the saucepan from the heat.

Stir the mixture well to ensure the honey and butter are thoroughly combined. Then, brush the honey butter evenly on top of the rolls.

7. Bake to Perfection

Cover the baking pan with aluminum foil and bake it in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melty and the sliders are golden-brown.

8. Cool Down

Take the sliders out of the oven and remove the foil, letting the sliders cool for a few minutes before slicing them.

Allowing them to cool helps the fillings to settle, making it easier to slice without everything oozing out. We recommend using a serrated knife while cutting these apart for easy slicing.

9. Garnish and Serve

Once they’re cooled, sprinkle on some freshly chopped parsley on top for a pop of color (if desired). Arrange these little delights on a serving platter and watch them disappear in no time!
