Neens from Ono Yum
Neens grew up in the island-style communities of San Diego. Far from Hawaii, but close to plate lunch, surfing and ukulele jammin, Neens is the creator of the Musubi Map and the I Love Poke Festival, both vehicles that reflect his passion for all things Hawaiian. He was raised on local-style home cooking thanks to his Mom, Gles, also known as the Filipina Betty Crocker. This recipe is one of Neens’ favorite dishes that he grew up eating, courtesy of his Mom. Recipe Details
Ingredients

For Guacamole: *

2 Hass avocados, large

1/4 cup Red onion, diced small

2 tablespoons Jalapeno, diced small

1 tablespoon Garlic, chopped finely

1/2 teaspoon Paprika

1/2 teaspoon chili powder

1 Lime, juiced

For Burger Patties: *

1 1/2 pounds Grass-fed ground beef, 80/20 preferred

2 tablespoons Garlic, crushed

1 tablespoon Sriracha hot sauce

1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon Paprika

1 teaspoon Onion Powder

8 Thick slices, American cheese

8 Thick slices, bacon

Bread & butter pickles

*Romaine Lettuce

Vine ripened tomatoes, sliced thick

Stone-ground mustard

1 package KING'S HAWAIIAN Original Hawaiian Sweet Hamburger Buns

Preparation
Step 1
Mash flesh of avocados and fold in red onion, jalapeno, chopped garlic, papri-ka, chili powder, and lime juice until well-combined. Season with salt and pep-per. Cover and set aside in refrigerator.
Step 2
Season ground beef with salt and pepper. Combine seasoned beef with crushed garlic, sriracha hot sauce, Worcestshire sauce, paprika, and onion powder. Divide ground beef into eight patties, roughly equal size.
Step 3
Light grill to medium-high heat. When to desired heat, place patties on grill and cook for 5-6 minutes, then turn. Cook for another 2-3 minutes depending on desired doneness. Top each patty with a slice of cheese during the last mi-nute of cooking to melt. Make 4 stacks of two patties and remove from grill.
Step 4
Place KING’S HAWAIIAN Hamburger Buns onto grill, inside of bun facing down to toast for at least 30 seconds. Watch closely to make sure it doesn’t burn.
Step 5
Remove KING’S HAWAIIAN Hamburger Buns and assemble with mustard on the bottom bun to hold the lettuce then top with tomato slices and pickles. Next, place a burger stack on top of each bottom bun and top with a generous help-ing of guacamole and two bacon slices. Add the top bun and enjoy!
