Hawaiian Pizza Pockets

Serves 4, Prep Time 15 mins

1 small package of pepperoni

4 - 6 slices Canadian bacon

1 small jar of pizza or spaghetti sauce

1 package sliced mozzarella cheese

1 package King’s Hawaiian Original Hawaiian Sweet Sliced Bread

Step 1

Make sure your Canadian bacon is thoroughly cooked.

Step 2

Spread pizza sauce on the inside of each slice of bread.  Then layer pepperoni, cheese and Canadian bacon on the bottom half.    Continue to crown your sandwich with the top half.

Step 3

Your sandwich is now complete, unless you want to continue and make it a Pizza “Pocket”.  If you would like to make a pocket, there are a few methods on how to do this.  You can buy a sandwich pocket device, or you can use a small cutting board and knife.  Look up both of these methods online by searching “sandwich pocket.”

Chef’s Note:  Pineapple is also a favorite addition to this combo, but that would make the sandwich soggy, so cut up some fresh pineapple and serve it on the side.  This is great tactic to get your kids the vitamin C they need for the day.  You can also heat up your pizza sandwich pocket in the oven if you prefer to serve it hot.
