BBQ Luau Grilled Chicken Sandwich

Our version of a grilled chicken sandwich brings all the flavor and It all starts with how you season the chicken. Using salt, pepper, paprika and creole seasoning, the chicken is seasoned and grilled, packing in all that flavor and zest. We love the addition of fried bacon and sliced pineapple to bring that salty and sweet island combo but it wouldn’t be a BBQ Luau sandwich without some BBQ sauce. Add some spring mix for some freshness and pile high on one of our burger buns for the ultimate grilled chicken sandwich.

Maui Cheesesteak Sliders

Cheesesteaks are good. Sliders are great. Maui Cheesesteak Sliders the ultimate. Taking the traditional cheesesteak flavors you love with the grilled peppers and mushrooms, we take it to another level in our Maui mini version. Using Maui onions and our Hawaiian sweet rolls we created some classic flavors with an island twist.

The Lapule Sandwich

While this might be a labor intensive sandwich recipe, the flavor is worth the work. Start by brining the chicken for at least two hours in a sugar, salt, water, sriracha mixture. While the chicken does it’s thing, you can make the slaw and aioli to go on top. The aioli is a mix of mayo, grated garlic, soy sauce and Sriracha, creating a salty, spicy sauce and the slaw is a simple mixture of cabbage, shallots, lemon juice and lemon zest to brighten and freshen up the Lapule Sandwich with added acidity.

After the toppings are done your chicken should be too. Take it out of the brine, dry off, dredge in seasoned cornmeal and pan fry. Assemble the Lapule fixings on our sweet hamburger buns and enjoy!

Grilled Teri Sliders

Everyone loves a good burger slider, but with a bit of Hawaiian flavor, these become a crowd favorite. Using not only a package of KING’S HAWAIIAN® dinner rolls but an entire bottle of KING'S HAWAIIAN Original Sweet Pineapple BBQ Sauce, these sliders are packed with island flavor. After grilling up your slider patties, brush with sauce and top with pickles, lettuce and tomato. Looking to kick it up a notch? Whip up some Shichimi Aioli using mayo and shichimi togarashi (available in Asian grocery stores) for a boost of Asian-inspired flavor.

Island Pork and Mango Sandwich

Masterpieces take time and this sandwich is a masterpiece. Our Island Pork and Mango sandwich lets your favorite tropical flavors shine, starting with the pork tenderloin. Marinade the pork in a blended mixture of cola, soy sauce, garlic, ginger and sriracha for at least three hours – we promise it’s worth it. While the pork is doing it’s flavorful thing, slice and season mango and green onion with olive oil, salt and pepper and grill to perfection letting some of the natural sugars caramelize to create beautiful grill marks.

Once the pork is marinated, take out the marinade and roast at 350 for about 30 minutes but keep an eye out to not overcook it. Make sure to save the marinade! Place the marinade in a sauce pan and simmer, adding flour to thicken and reduce. All the elements are now ready to assemble. Take your Hawaiian dinner roll and stack with sliced pork, mango, green onion and sauce for our favorite island sandwich.
