Invite your movie loving friends over for the show and be ready with one or two signature cocktails.  Keep them simple and easy to make so you don’t miss the heartfelt acceptance speeches due to mixing drinks.

This Coconut Passion Fruit Martini is just the drink you need to keep your guests happy.

2 oz. Passion Fruit Juice

1 oz. Coco Real

1 ½ oz.  Smirnoff Sorbet Mango Passion Fruit (or other tropical flavored vodka)

Toasted coconut (optional)

Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice then strain in to a martini glass.  Top with toasted coconut if desired.

Looking for something a little bit more “fancy”?  Add 1 oz. passion fruit juice to a champagne flute then top with sparkling wine.

Set out favorite movie treats for your guests to enjoy-  it fits the theme of the night perfectly and does not require a lot of work.  They can also be set out way ahead of time so that you aren’t rushing to get all the food ready at the same time.

Don’t forget to serve your favorite savory appetizers, (like this spinach dip in a bread bowl) to make sure that your guests have something to fill up their stomachs besides just candy OR consider making the party a potluck so that everyone pitches in on the food! Decorations for an awards show party are very easy.  Think film reels, Hollywood glam or movie references.  There are also a lot of printables to be found online like these nominee photos.  Use them as wall decor, napkin rings or on a drink stirrer to really bring some fun to the party.

Give your guests something to do during the show like trying to predict who the winners will be in each category.  These printable ballots, from A Few of my Favorite Things, are great looking and easy to download.  Pass these out as guests arrive before the show starts and see which guests were able to guess the outcome the best.

An awards viewing party is a great reason to get your friends together.  Whether you are a movie lover or just interested in the fashion, awards shows are great for a variety of people and allow you to share your hostess skills, or ohana, with your guests.
