Since mouthwatering food is at the heart of King’s Hawaiian, it’s no surprise I’m exploring the many tastes of South by Southwest. We’re not the only ones here with super fun food trucks.

On Saturday, I visited the Shake Shack truck. They not only served up some fab burgers and fries, but also a friendly hello from Seth Meyers of NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers!” I even got his photo!

On Sunday, I went to the famous Gordough’s for donuts that are so fancy some are served with a scoop of ice cream. Ono! Then on Monday night, I met up with Bravo’s Top Chef winner Paul Qui and ate at his restaurant Qui.

Today I dropped by The Salt Lick, one of the best barbeque spots in Austin and our partner in SXSW crime. It’s their amazing brisket that we’re serving up on our King’s Hawaiian rolls here in Austin. Friday night we debuted our sliders and tomorrow we’re bringing them back to the streets. Salt Lick brisket and King’s Hawaiian rolls…the best of both worlds!

Starting tomorrow night, we’ll be part of The Heart of Austin showcase and once again serving free BBQ sliders from our food truck. The Sony King’s Hawaiian Mobile Lounge will be set up at Fifth and Colorado, offering not only delicious eats but also an awesome entertainment experience! Visitors will get to try out Sony's xPeria tablet and watch concert performances from the Sony stages on the new 4800 watt Sony Shake99.

Our food truck will be going strong Wednesday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. with some exciting visitors sure to stop by for a taste. If you’re here in Austin, come visit us at the intersection of Fifth and Colorado. If you aren’t in Texas, try making some sliders at home. Use the combination of Texas and Hawaii to inspire you!

Mahalo!
